by seven006 ini dont post much at all any more but i had to mention this, i just got back from seeing religulous and cant remember the last time i laughed so hard.
it was great!!!!!!
close-minded religious people should save their money and not go see this movie but instead give your money to the next tv evangelist or street magician you see.

You gave them something to talk about later! I've seen people answer the door in their underwear or just towels, but not totally in the buff. One time, a guy answered wearing his girlfriend's panties. He came outside and stood on the porch and talked for a while.

VOTE YOUR "SILVER BULLET" QUESTION
by V ini'm quizzing all my sources for the ultimate "silver-bullet" question for a jw at your door.
the best questions will be used in a video series on watchtower comments.
the goal is to help people respond to jws.. the question must be direct and designed to open the jw mind, not necessarily to win an argument.. i would prefer to avoid doctrinal debate such as trinity, cross, even thiest/athiest subjects.

I think questions on the blood issue are the hardest for a jw to defend. How can a jw take fractions if the storage of blood is not permitted? You would have to be ready to further reason on any question.
The society likes to pretend that at some point, magically, the fractions cease to be blood. That is actually a diversion tactic. Sticking to the fact that they are using stored blood and making them explain how that is permissable, is important.
There is no way to defend that from the Bible or from simple reasoning. That makes it the silver bullet question.

There is no official policy right now. They may ask you the "loyalty" question, but it is easy to get around. Put it back on them, Why, are you saying you have doubts? That is usually enough to send them packing with their tails between their legs.
They may give pointed counsel from the platform. Individuals may choose to withdraw from you. There is nothing you can do about that.

Euthanasia?
by MegaDude inanyone against euthanasia if you are sick with a terminal disease and you don't wish to die a protracted death?.
i have thought about this a lot since a coworker's grandfather here in the u.s., dying painfully of cancer, drove around and saw his relatives one final time and then killed himself.
they found him in a car by the side of the road.

After working inthe health care field and watching many suffer, some for years, I believe it should be both legal and available. There have to be rules such as Rebel8 mentions. It is already practiced in the states, ever heard of a "slow code"?
They are doing other things, such as morphine, as rebel8 mentions. One thing they do with morphine now is to put a small amount in a breathing treatment when someone is slowly dying of a respiratory disease. It helps ease air hunger, that feeling that you can't draw a good breath. I find that merciful.
If you believe that God is truly merciful, why would you insist that a person suffer needlessly? We put our pets to sleep to spare them. I often think that it would be really hard on the family. Then I think how hard it is for the family to watch a loved one suffer on and on. I think you would have to be brave to go gently into that dark night.

Gandhi's Seven Deadly Sins
by blondie ingandhi's seven deadly sins.
mohandas karamachand gandhi, one of the most influential figures in modern social and political activism, considered these traits to be the most spiritually perilous to humanity.. .
wealth without work pleasure without conscience science without humanityknowledge without character politics without principle commerce without morality worship without sacrificehave you ever heard of these?

Gandhi was a thoughtful man. i think the "wealth without work" applies more to gettng something for nothing, rather than inheriting money. The article applied it to manipulating the markets and pyramid schemes. Those that inherit wealth may be hard workers or not. Hi Gumby.
These are good to ponder, Blondie. The watchtower always liked to quote Gandhi about when all nations got together and practiced what was taught by Jesus on the sermon on the mount, they would solve the world's problems. Or something like that. Good advice too. Better than the watchtower.

Ruth,
Such a tragedy. I am so sorry for your loss. To lose a child in such a way is heartbreaking. I am glad you have your 2 sons with you out of the jws. The blood issue is what finally brought me out of the witnesses. When they changed to taking fractions, I knew they were making it up as they went along. I went to the reformed site on blood to investigate. It was the first internet site I visited that spoke the truth about jws. It helped me realize that others saw things wrong with the blood issue too. So your help there is not in vain.
Sincerely, choosing life

Glad you are ok. It is very difficult to come out of jws with family still held hostage. It does get easier over time. There are tons of experiences on this board that can help. Also many active posters who would be glad to help or just listen.
